A Civics Lesson from Governor Palin
Tuesday, October 21st, 2008Here at Dumbworld, to be honest, we just aren’t that smart (and therefore the name Dumbworld). However, we are fast learners. So when 3rd graders ask questions– we listen because– shit, we want to know what the vice president does too.
From an interview with Governor Palin:
Q: Brandon Garcia wants to know, “What does the Vice President do?”
PALIN: That’s something that Piper would ask me! … [T]hey’re in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom.
The one time we bothered to show up for Mr Tackmeyers Social Studies class, he told us that the Vice President is the President of the Senate, but only votes if it is a tie. In fact that the job of President of the Senate is more of a ceremonial role. But like I said, we are the dumb ones. More here (with video).
