Dumbworld Meets Natasha Kmeto Giveaway Winner!

Friday, January 30th, 2009

Congratulations to Corey, winner of the Dumbworld Meets Natasha Kmeto Giveaway.  Corey gets 2 tickets to see Natasha do her thing.  Free Drinks, Free Food, Free CD and Free Performance, Whoo Whoo!

The correct answers were:

1) She make her own beats!

2) Los Angeles

3) She is drinking JB Whiskey, but if you look closely in the video, the bottle isn’t a real JB bottle (along with everything else in the video).  Uber talented artist Ryan Seng painted it. . . but I think the whiskey that Natasha was drinking was the real deal.

Once again, congratulations to Corey, and have a good time.

Video of Uriah Faber Interview, Hosted by Cawzlos- Topics are Doey Rock, Kimbo Slice and a Possible New Reality Show

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

Sacramento Emcee and “the greatest marketing and promotions director of the world” Cawzlos continues his “Exclusive Interviews” series with an interview with Uriah Faber (MMA star, Sacramento Native, University of Davis grad, the “california kid”– two gyms ( one on 17th and I and one on Folsom Blvd)– and like he says– “don’t f- with Uriah Faber”)- about among other things Doey Rock, Kimbo Slice (would Uriah beat him in a fight to the death?) and a possible new reality show.

The Future of Digital Cinema (Digital Projection) and It May Help Out You, the Independent Filmmaker

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

Or at least that is what this guy thinks.  It sounds like some of the studios will pay up to $1000 per a “virtual print” to offset the $70,000 dollars it costs to upgrade to the new systems.  But don’t believe me– let him tell you himself, why it helps you out (if you are an independent filmmaker).

At Sundance Film Festival, Web Pioneers Discuss the "On Demand Web Revolution"

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

Continuing the theme of Dumbworld’s last post, and echoing a comment from Christina Marie: at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, several digital media pioneers spoke on the future of entertainment and digital media (including Netflix founder and CEO Reed Hastings, YouTube CEO and co-founder Chad Hurley; and Jason Kilar, CEO of Hulu).

right now, about two out of every three shows or films you see are just “eh,” Hastings said, and one out of every three is “wow!”

“If we can collectively shift it to two out of three is “wow,” he said, consumers will have a better experience and will likely take in more content. -Netflix CEO and founder Reed Hastings

So it sounds like the consensus is, make great content that everybody sees and consumers love.  I can’t believe how easy this filmmaking thing has become in the Digital Era ;-) Read more about the panel of web media pioneers at Sundance from Michelle Myers from CNet News.
