Looking for a 2010 Cinco de Mayo Celebration in Sacramento?
They are doing their yearly Cinco de Mayo celebration/festival on the 2700 block of J street again this year (includes Centro Cocina Mexicana and Harlowes). If you haven’t been before, it is a huge party (go early to get in, or stand in line for awhile). Starts at 4pm on May 5 till they shut it down. There will be live music, a mariachi band and outdoor bars. (more…)
Congratulations to Tyreke Evans on the Rookie of the Year honors. Very cool for Sac. Jay from Dumbworld has the trademark on the Sacramento Tyrekes (feel free to use that one).

We slept on this because that is what we do best, but for an independent filmmaker out of Sacramento to get theatrical distribution is a pretty impressive accomplishment. Congratulations Deon! I can’t think of any others off the top of my head. If you know of any, let me know.
Sacramento filmmaker Deon Taylor is on the verge of a huge breakthrough: a national theatrical release for his horror film, “Chain Letter,” that was filmed here.
Here at Dumbworld, some would say we are lowdown cheapskates. We prefer frugal- so this deal sounds like the new black to us. Moviemaker magazine lifetime subscription for $49.
