Kevin Johnson Challenges Sacramento Residents to Give a Minimum of 10 Hours of Volunteer Service this Year and Dumbworld is Taking the Challenge
Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009Yesterday, Kevin Johnson launched his “Volunteer Sacramento” program. The goal of the program is to recruit thousands of residents to give at least 10 hours of service for the year.
Johnson told a story about being a child and driving back from Folsom with his grandfather every weekend. Everytime there was a person out of gas or with a flat tire on the side of the road, his grandfather would stop and help. This instilled in Kevin the importance of being a good neighbor. And it is in this spirit that he hopes Sacramento will become the #1 city in the state of California when it comes to service hours.
