Saw a poster for this (Banksy’s Exit Through the Gift Shop) and was intrigued.  Sorry, Sacramento hasn’t been deemed cool enough to get a showing.

Joey, have you ever been in a- a turkish prison?

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

If so National Geographic wants to talk to you. Their show Locked Up Abroad is looking for stories.

- Have you ever ended up in a foreign prison?
- Have you ever been kidnapped or taken hostage while traveling overseas?
- Would you like the chance to tell your story?

If so, they have a Craigslist Ad up.  You might become famous.

Zacuto Releases Consumer Grade Handgrip for Iphone 3Gs

Friday, August 7th, 2009

[vodpod id=ExternalVideo.858110&w=425&h=350&fv=]

A handgrip that helps you shoot stable video with your Iphone 3Gs.  Novelty or really good idea?  Unfortunately, I bought my Iphone and a month later, it was obsolete, so it will be some time before I know the joy of shooting video with an Iphone, but I vote for good idea.  A good story is a good story whether you shoot it with the world’s most expensive camera or a camera phone.

The video above is for their “pro” version, Zgrip Iphone Pro.  Their new ”consumer version” has a cheaper price ($69), Zgrip Iphone Jr. has many of the features of the “pro” version, minus some of the adjustability.  If you pre-order before August 15, it is $59.

Review of 2008 Sacramento Horror Film Festival

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Wasn’t able to make it out to the Sacramento Horror Film Festival  last weekend.  I had planned to check out Mr Lobo’s Public Domain Content and Licensing Workshop, but I ended up watching football and drinking beer at Hanger 17 instead.  It appears that I really am not dedicated enough to my craft (unless my craft is watching football and drinking beer).

Regardless, I found a review of the festival by freelance writer Juliet Farmer.  Maybe it is me, but she didn’t seem too excited about the whole thing, but she does suggest a couple of films to check out.  Enjoy.
