Rogue River Screening at the Sacramento Film and Music Festival

As a follow up to this post, Sacramento area filmmakers, KeJo Production’s thriller Rogue River is screening at the Sacramento Film and Music Festival on July 31st at 8pm at the Crest Theater. There will be an after-party across the street at the Cosmo Cafe, following the screening. Noticeably missing is a trailer for the movie. Come on guys, post a trailer, so I can link to it! My favorite for now are the Mad Decent Worldwide Radio podcasts, and they are free. It’s been described as NPR for the streets.

There are some interviews, but for the most part it is music, and it’s hard to describe what type of music it is, like you will hear the Ying Yang Twins mixed with The Eurythmics mixed with electronica.

Also there is music from all over the world, New Orleans, Africa, Israel, just to name a few places. They are available on iTunes or here. Mad Decent Worldwide Radio.

Back when I had HBO, How to Make It in America, the story of two entrepreneurs trying to hustle in New York, was one of my favorite shows. I always wondered who sang the title song.

Come to find out it’s none other than Stones Throw Records’s Aloe Blacc.

I found out about rapper Aloe Blacc a couple years back when my buddy Corey was doing an interview with another artist and was singing the praise of rapper Blacc, so it was a surprise to find that Blacc was behind the track, which sounds like an old soul track. Complex magazine has a pretty good interview with Aloe Blacc on how he came up with the song. Below is the trailer for How to Make it in America.
